ANIMAL KINGDOM Trailer - The Best Movie I've Seen This Year!

Sony Pictures Cliassics has released the first full feature trailer for the Melbourne-set crime story Animal Kingdom, from writer-director David Michôd.

A sick to your stomach thrill ride that surprises you in all the right ways, Animal Kingdom has garnered comparisons The Departed, giving you all the same kind of edge of your seat suspense Scorsese's Oscar-winning film had, but the family centered film is much more tragic at times, more reminiscent of say, The Wire. This was far and away my favorite movie from this year's Sundance, and a lot of people felt the same way, with the film winning the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. James FrechevilleBen Mendelsohn (Knowing), Joel Edgerton (King Arthur, Ned Kelly), Jacki Weaver and Luke Ford (The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor) star as a family of drug dealers and bank robbers, who have successfully eluded police. Hiding in plain sight with no prosecutable evidence against them, renegade cops take matters into their own hands, and the family does what it takes to protect themselves. Guy Pearce also stars as the detective trying to bring the family down and use Frenchville's stoic and unphased young character as an informant. The trailer features Air Supply's hit song "All Out Of Love." The song is definitely used in the film, and in one of the most awkward of places... it gets stuck in your head after watching the film.

I can't say enough how much I enjoyed the film, and urge you to watch it when it hits theaters on June 3rd.

Check out the trailer and let us know what you think!

Official Synopsis:

Welcome to the jungle known as the Melbourne underworld. Pope Cody (Mendelsohn), an armed robber on the run from a gang of renegade detectives, is in hiding, surrounded by his roughneck friends and family. Soon, Pope’s nephew, Joshua "J" Cody (Frecheville), arrives and moves in with his hitherto-estranged relatives. When tensions between the family and the police reach a bloody peak, "J" finds himself at the center of a cold-blooded revenge plot that turns the family upside down.
