First Actor Cast in Frank Darabont's WALKING DEAD TV Series
The Ghost Writer co-star Jon Bernthal is the first actor to join AMC's zombie drama Walking Dead, being developed by Frank Darabont who has written and will direct the adaptation. This is the man that brought us The Shawshank Redemption, the Green Mile and The Mist.
The story is set among a group of zombie survivors of an apocalypse who are led by a police officer, Rick Grimes, in search of a safe place to live for his family, the process they go through some pretty crazy scrapes and adventures.
The TV pilot got the greenlight earlier this year. The series has been described a story about survival, and the dynamics of what happens when a group is forced to survive under these circumstances. This won't be a Zombies jumping out of closets kind of show.
AMC is known for their high quality TV series such as Mad Men and Breaking Bad, I have a feeling this Walking Dead adaptation is going to be of the same quality and caliber, and I can't wait to see it!
As for Bernthal being cast, he also had a small role in HBO's The Pacific and he did a good job so I think he'll make a good addition to the series. He will play the main character Rick Grimes in the series.
