Kick-Ass Director Matthew Vaughn to Adapt BLOODSHOT

Movie Matthew Vaughn by Joey Paur

Matthew Vaughn's highly anticipated film Kick-Ass hasn't even been released yet, but there are a good amount of fans out there who are wondering what it is he might end up doing next. According to our friends over at Latino Review Vaughn will bring to life another comic book called Bloodshot. This comic book was published by Valiant comics in the 90's.

Here's a short little summary on what the comic book is about:

The corpse of Angelo Mortalli has been reanimated and remade into the ultimate killing machine—an engine of destruction code named: Bloodshot. But, in the process, his memories were lost…and maybe his soul. His makers meant to use him as a weapon—an unstoppable assassin. But they made him too well. Too powerful to be contained, he breaks free and escapes.

I remember reading a few of these comics growing up, but I never really got into them, not because I didn't like the story but because I couldn't afford to keep buying them. I think it should make for a decent film, especially with Vaughn at the helm, there's no doubt this guy knows how to tell a fun action-packed story.

Vaughn is writing the film with Jane Goldman who wrote Stardust and Kick-Ass for him.  Vaughn is fully financing and intends to cast the film late summer.

What do you think about Vaughn's possible new directing project? Do you think Bloodshot will make for a good movie?
