Vin Diesel + Samuel L. Jackson + Rob Cohen = XXX 3D

A third XXX action extreme sports adventure movie has been being discussed for about two years now, and now after a lot of talk it looks like the film is going to move forward... in 3D of course.

The first couple films were set up over at Columbia Pictures but apparently they didn't want to have anything to do with the franchise anymore so they ditched it in the dumpster, which in my opinion, is where it belongs. But Paramount Pictures was going through the trash and found it as something they might be interested in cleaning off and reselling. They are currently in negotiations to finance and distribute the next installment of XXX. Is there really a market for this? Seriously? How many XXX fans are there out in the world?

Vin Diesel will come back to reprise his role as Xander Cage, Samuel L. Jackson will reprise his role as Agent Augustus Gibbons, and Rob Cohen will be coming back to direct it. There was a point in the two years that this movie was trying to get off the ground that Cohen left the project because he didn't see it happening at Columbia, so he moved on to another project. Now he's pretty excited for the film project again saying,

I feel what we did in the beginning of the decade was bring a different attitude to the action movie and a different kind of hero. With the new 3D instrument and the techniques I can apply, we can create a different kind of cutting-edge experience in 3D by shooting it that way from the beginning the way James Cameron did Avatar. This won't be fantasy characters, it takes place on Earth in real time. That's a new dimension to be explored, and I'm excited.

The story follows Xander Cage (Diesel) who is left for dead, but returns to execute a very difficult assignment that only he can pull off. Most of the action takes place in Europe. Of course he is the only person in the whole entire world that can accomplish whatever mission it is that needs to be taken care of.

Diesel will star in the film right after he is done with The Fast and the Furious 5, which Universal Pictures will release June 10, 2011. Paramount expects to distribute the film about six months later.

What do you all think about the return of XXX in 3D?
