Stephen Hawking Says We Better Watch Out for Aliens Because They’re Out to Kill Us
Stephen Hawking is one of the smartest individuals on our planet, and in a new documentary series on the Discovery Channel called Into the Universe, he suggests that extraterrestrials exist, but that instead of seeking them out, we should be doing everything that we can to avoid any contact with them. That is until we can evolve far enough to actually defend ourselves against them, because after all they are a more highly advanced species. Here is what he had to say.
We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn't want to meet. I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet. Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonize whatever planets they can reach. If aliens ever visit us, I think the outcome would be much as when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, which didn't turn out very well for the Native Americans.
Well, thats a little scary. Perhaps Hawking has watched Independence Day and War of the Worlds way too many times? The guy obviously believe what he's saying. If there is other intelligent life out there I’d like to think they are us or at least like ET. If not then according to Hawking were all screwed.
