Paramount Passes On ANCHORMAN 2, What?

The other day we posted cool news that Anchorman director Adam McKay was excited about the strong possibility of bring Ron Burgandy (Will Farrell) and his friends back to the big screen for Anchorman 2 but Paramount has passed on it.  All of the cast have gone on to bigger and better things since then and it seemed to expensive to do a sequel until Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd came out saying they wanted to do the sequel and would take a cut in pay to get this most-wanted sequel made but I guess when the fans speak and even the actors and director get involved it still isn't enough for the big, huge corporate monster that is Paramount!  Another little tidbit here is that Anchorman's theater profit alone was over $50 million, that's not counting dvd sales and rentals people!

McKay tweeted about it this morning only saying;

"So bummed. Paramount basically passed on Anchorman 2. Even after we cut our budget down. We tried."

I bet if enough noise gets made about this it'll set something in motion and maybe they'll change their minds! So all of you fans that want to see Ron Burgandy one more time keep talking about it, blog about it and do whatever else you can think of!

Follow Adam McKay's Twitter and show your support for getting an Anchorman 2 made!
