Action Movie of the Week: FIST OF LEGEND
I don't know about the rest of you, but I truly enjoy a good action flick. There is nothing better then watching John McClane take down Hans Gruber and every other terrorist that stands in his way. Society today is wrapped up in making sure that everyone feels good and is not offended. It's great thing when you are taken to a world where the good guy is allowed to kick ass, take names and not apologize for it.
So, this week I am going to feature one of my favorite action movies, Jet Li's: Fist Of Legend.
The storyline is classic. It's a retelling of Bruce Lee's Chinese Connection.
Chen Zhen, a Chinese student in Japan 1937, returns home to Japanese occupied Shanghi when he learns that his kung fu master has been killed in a fight against a Japanese champion. Once back at home, Chen Zhen finds that he is not trusted by those who he at one time called friends. Soon after coming home Chen finds and defeats the Japanese champion who killed his master. In doing so, he finds out that there is much more to the story then he originally thought.
This movie is beyond fun to watch. I am a junkie for the martial arts films, and this is one of my favorites. The fight scenes are wonderfully shot and choreographed. The story isn't close to academy award winning, but it is good enough to keep you from being bored between fight scenes.
For those of you who have seen the movie, watch it again. For those of you who haven't, it is worth it. If you watch it and don't like it, let me know and I will try to get that time back for you. Until next time.
