Colin Farrell Cast in FRIGHT NIGHT Remake
Colin Farrell has been out of the lime light for awhile now. It's been a few years since Farrell has done a studio film. He mostly has been working on small little indie films, but it looks like he's ready to sink his teeth into a new decent sized studio project with the DreamWorks remake of Fright Night.
Farrell has signed on to play the charismatic next door neighbor vampire in the film, Jerry Dandrige. The bloodsucker role was originally played by Chris Sarandon in 1985. And he was awesome!
Farrell joins the already cast Anton Yelchin (Star Trek) and Toni Collette, in the Craig Gillespie directed film. Farrell has shown that he can be a great actor. I thought he did an incredible job in In Bruges. I'm surprised that he is coming out of his indie film phase for a remake of Fright Night. I guess it's a role he feels he can have fun with.
I loved the original film, and as good as a cast as this remake is getting, I'm still not feeling the excitement for it. It just one of those movies that doesn't really need to be remade. It worked great as an 80's film, but there's no way the remake will have the same feeling and awesomeness as the original.
