Jane Goldman Writing Vaughn's X-MEN: FIRST CLASS

Last week it was officially announced that Matthew Vaughn would direct the next X-Men film for 20th Century Fox, X-Men: First Class, which most of us agree is a a great choice! It was also revealed that Thor writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz would do a few rewrites on the script from a story by Bryan Singer, which Fox plans to start production on this summer for a June 3, 2011 release.

They won't be the only ones working on the script though. It looks like Matthew Vaughn has brought in Jane Goldman to take a crack at the script as well. She worked with Vaughn on both writing Stardust and Kick-Ass. Her husband Jonathan Ross spilled the beans on his twitter saying,

(Jane Goldman) is away writing X Men 4 so I am off to bed with little Sweeney alone.

He clarified the X-Men 4 comment in another tweet,

Also, for those who need to know, my wife IS currently writing X men First Class. It's just referred to as X men 4 around the house...

Then a ton of people started asking him questions in which he resopnded,

I am afraid I better not answer any more queries re X Men First Class for fear of spoilers and also possible divorce. Thank you.

Jane Goldman herself hasn't said anything regarding writing X-Men: First Class, but obviously she is too busy writing it to bother with twitter. She's a decent screenwriter with some great ideas, and I trust that she will bring something special to the X-Men: First Class film. There is actually hope for this movie!

X-Men: First Class follows the classic Marvel mythology and charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants, to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.
