Paul W.S. Anderson's THREE MUSKETEER'S Casts Waltz, Lerman, Jovovich and Bloom

Paul W.S. Anderson's 3D film version of the classic Three Musketeer tale is starting to take some shape. The project is set to start shooting in September, and the filmmakers are looking at people to cast. There's a pretty good mixture of talent of who they are bringing into the film. So here's who we got lined up so far.

Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief) is currently in negotiations to play D’Artagnan, a young man who leaves home to become a member of the fighting force of the French king’s royal household.

Ray Stevenson (The Book of Eli), Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans) and Matthew Macfadyen (Robin Hood) have been cast as the three stooges... I mean the three main musketeer's Porthos, Athos and Aramis.

Then there's the great Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) who will play the villain in the film, Cardinal Richelieu and Mads Mikkelsen will take of the role of Rochefort. Of course Anderson’s wife, Milla Jovovich got a role in the film, and I don't think anyone is complaining. She will play Milady de Winter, a former love of Athos who is described as “17th century Bond girl.”

And what would a period movie like this with swords be like without Orlando Bloom? What's he been up to lately? They offered him the role of the nemesis Duke of Buckingham.

As you can see there is a pretty fun and talented cast of actors that are going to be involved with the film. I think I'm most excited to see Waltz in the role of Cardinal Richelieu. Everyone else should work fine for a W.S. Anderson film. I'm really not expecting much from this movie. I'm sure it will be a fun B type movie which is what Anderson is good at, but don't expect anything to blow your mind with this one.

What are your thoughts on Anderson's casting for The Three Musketeers?
