James Franco will Play RICKY STANICKY new 'R' Rated Comedy
Summit Entertainment has just acquired a new 'R' rated comedy called Ricky Stanicky which will star James Franco as the title character. The movie sounds like it will be funny, but I have to tell you... it was written by Jeff Bushell, this is the same guy who wrote Beverly Hills Chihuahua. I gotta say... thats not a good sign. But ya never know maybe he's a good screenwriter that did Chihuahua just for the money.
The story is an ensemble comedy in the same vein of The Hangover, and begins when three teens pull a prank and burn down a house in their neighborhood. To get out of trouble they create a fake person to take the blame -- Ricky Stanicky, and blame it on him. Twenty years later these three guys are still using this alibi to get out of every uncomfortable situation in life. When their wives force them to set up a meeting with Stanicky, they hire an actor played by Franco.
Like I said this film has the potential to be really funny. I like the idea, if the script is good and the film is executed well, then we may have a pretty funny comedy on our hands here. What do you all think?
