Offers out Hayden Panettiere and Ashely Greene to Join SCREAM 4

Scream 4 is currently prepping up for production which is set for this July. Director Wes Craven and Dimension Films are in the process of casting the new generation of slasher victims.

There are currently offers out to Ashley Greene (Twilight) who would play Campbell’s cousin Jill, the heroine of the movie. Hayden Panettiere (Heroes) would play her best friend, a nerdy film geek, like a female Randy type character. Rory Culkin (Mean Creek) would play a potential love interest for Jill. And Lake Bell (It's Complicated) is currently in negotiations to join the film franchise as a police officer who knew Sidney from high school.

Green and Panettiere were also recently listed as possible replacements for Megan Fox in Transformers 3. But I think they are more fit for the Scream franchise then they are for Transformers. If they decide to take the roles they were offered they will join original cast members Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette. 

Scream 4 will be directed by Wes Craven from a script by Kevin Williamson, both of which created the great horror franchise. The new fourth film is meant to pass the torch to a new generation of characters that will also kick off a new trilogy of films. 

Apparently to keep the story from leaking out Craven and Dimension are not sending scripts to any agencies. They are only sending them character descriptions. This is slowing the casting down because the actors are having a difficult time deciding whether certain roles are for them.
