Underworld: Rise of the Lycans Director to Develop THE COLONY

Movie by Joey Paur

Patrick Tatopoulos started his movie career working as a special effects artist on films such as Silent Hill, Underworld, I Am Legend, The Ruins and Trick 'r Treat just to name a few. He then moved up in the entertainment world and directed his first feature film, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, which I thought was a pretty cool movie, but I like the Underworld films.

Now it looks like he is ready to move on to another directing gig. Tatopoulos is currently in negotiations to develop a eco-horror film called The Colony. The script was written by Stacy Title and Jonathan Penner, then it was rewritten by David Lee Johnson.

The story revolves around a group of survivors forced underground by the next ice age. There, they must fight to preserve humanity against a savage threat.

Perhaps they dug to deep and unleashed a Balrog that they had to defend themselves against. That would be interesting. For those of you who don't know, thats a Lord of the Rings reference. I'm not really sure what to expect from this movie, we don't have very many details to go off of, and what we do have is nothing really new. I liked what the director did with Rise of the Lycans, so I'll be keeping an eye out for this one.
