Orlando Bloom Officially Cast in Anderson's THE THREE MUSKETEERS

A couple weeks ago we talked about Paul W.S. Anderson's casting for his upcoming 3D reboot of The Three Musketeers. At the time Orlando Bloom was only offered the role of the Duke of Buckingham in the film, but we didn't know if he would take the role or not. Now we have confirmation that Bloom will once again pick up a sword to do battle in a movie. Bloom's always been at the top of his game when he has a sword in his hands!

Bloom will also be joined by British comedian James Corden who was cast as his servant Planchet. The two actors join the already cast Logan Lerman, Matthew McFadyen, Ray Stevenson and Luke Evans as the Musketeers, Oscar-winning actor Christoph Waltz as Cardinal Richelieu, Mads Mikkelsen as Rochefort and Milla Jovovich as Lady De Winter.

With Anderson on board to direct this film, we can expect the film to have a B-movie type vibe, because all of his movies have that vibe. It works for most of his films, but I'm not sure how it will translate to a period film like this, especially in 3D. I assume the movie will start shooting as soon as he is completed with Resident Evil: Afterlife.

Any thoughts on Bloom being cast in the film?
