An actor not many people really care about these days has dropped out of a movie that many of you could care less about, because of the hiring of a new director that nobody even knows.

The actor is Brenden Fraser, the movie is Journey to the Center of the Earth 2, and the director is Brad Peyton. Here's what's going down with the film project.

For some reason Warner Bros. wants to make a sequel to Journey to the Center of the Earth, we've known this for some time now. They want to put the film on the fast track to production, because of this, the original director Eric Brevig won't be coming back to make the sequel because he's currently directing the new Yogi Bear movie. He's moving up in the world. So the studio is going to bring in a new director by the name of Brad Peyton who directed a film I'm sure none of you will see called Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore. This is a movie I won't even take my kids to because it looks awful. Brenden Fraser wasn't really happy with the director change and decided it was time for him to drop out of the project.

In the original film Fraser played Prof. Trevor Anderson, the story of the film will now focus on Anderson's nephew in the story, Sean who will be played by Josh Hutcherson. Apparently Fraser felt strongly about making the movie with the original director. Why? Maybe they're friends? Personally when it comes to making a film like this, I don't think it really matters who is directing it, the movie will end up just as bad as the original anyway.

So as it stands Fraser gave up a nice big pay check, and Warner Bros. is going to spend a butt load of money on a kids 3D special effects action movie that doesn't really have a marketable star. Honestly, with or without Fraser I think the film will make the same amount of money in the end. The kids don't care about who is in the film, they just care about if it looks cool or not. This movie isn't for adults thats for sure.
