Whoa. This film The Last Exorcism, looks scary as hell! No joke this trailer for the film that was just released gave me the chills. I don't scare easy, I watch horror films all the time, I think I'm a little desensitized when it comes to horror movies. And I love it when one comes along that can scare me. I'm not sure what it is about this one, maybe it's the how the film is shot in a documentary type style, maybe it's the fact that it deals with an exorcism, which as you know are already creepy as hell. But this film looks like it will have some genuine mind screwing scares.
The film follows Evangelical minister Marcus Cotton, who performed religious rites he did not believe in for years, and he is about to quit the business. But before he does, he agrees to let a documentary crew film his last exorcism. Things don't go as planned.
The film was directed by Daniel Stamm, produced by Eli Roth and stars Patrick Fabian and Ashley Bell. It is set to be released on August 27th 2010. The movie looks like a great film for horror fans and gives us something to look forward to this summer. Check out the trailer for the film below, and tell us what ya think!
When he arrives on the rural Louisiana farm of Louis Sweetzer, the Reverend Cotton Marcus expects to perform just another routine "exorcism" on a disturbed religious fanatic. An earnest fundamentalist, Sweetzer has contacted the charismatic preacher as a last resort, certain his teenage daughter Nell is possessed by a demon who must be exorcized before their terrifying ordeal ends in unimaginable tragedy. Buckling under the weight of his conscience after years of parting desperate believers with their money, Cotton and his crew plan to film a confessionary documentary of this, his last exorcism. But upon arriving at the already blood drenched family farm, it is soon clear that nothing could have prepared him for the true evil he encounters there. Now, too late to turn back, Reverend Marcus' own beliefs are shaken to the core when he and his crew must find a way to save Nell - and themselves - before it is too late.
