Eddie Redmayne may star in Steven Spielberg's WAR HORSE
Last month it was revealed that director Steven Spielberg's next film would be a Wold War I movie called War Horse, based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo. The story follows a man named Albert and his horse Joey who is sold to the army and thrust into war on the western front. Albert sets out on a mission to save his horse.
And now according to The Playlist Spielberg has found his leading man, a British actor by the name of Eddie Redmayne. According to the source Redmayne is pretty much locked for the role of Albert.
Redmayne isn't really a well known actor, but he's been in a few films you may have seen. Such as The Good Shepherd, Savage Grace, Elizabeth: The Golden Years, The Other Boleyn Girl, and Powder Blue.
If he end's up being cast, War Horse will definitely be his biggest film to date. I like that Spielberg is looking at casting a relatively unknown actor for the role in this film. He used to go out and find new talent all the time for his films, but in the most recent years he's been working with already established actors.
This seems like a perfect film for Spielberg to direct, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with it.
Heres' the books synopsis:

With his officer, he charges toward the enemy, witnessing the horror of the battles in France. But even in the desolation of the trenches, Joey's courage touches the soldiers around him and he is able to find warmth and hope. But his heart aches for Albert, the farmer's son he left behind. Will he ever see his true master again?
