DON'T TELL MOM THE BABYSITTER IS DEAD is Being Remade

Movie by Joey Paur

We can now add the 1991 comedy Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter is Dead to the pile of movies that are being remade. It looks like they are phasing out the 1980's remakes and slowly moving in to 90's territory. With The Karate Kid remake pulling in almost $56 million dollars this weekend, you can bet your ass we're going to see even more remakes being announced.

Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter is Dead isn't even really one of those great classic comedies. It's been years since I've seen the original. I remember enjoying it, but it was one of those films I never really needed to see again. I honestly don't care that this movie is being remade. It just baffles me that a studio would actually want to throw a few million bucks into remaking it.

The film is being produced by Mark Gordon thorough his production company, and it is in the very early stages of development. They are currently looking for a writer that is desperate for a job.

The original film starred Christina Applegate and follows five kids who are left home when their parents leave town on a three-month vacation, only to have their geriatric babysitter die of a heart attack, leading to the eldest teen, Sue Ellen, to scam her way into taking a job at a hip Los Angeles fashion company to feed and support her needy siblings.

What do you all think about this movie getting the remake treatment?
