Disney recently picked up the an untitled Baseball movie pitch from screenwriter Allan Loeb (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps) and Bradley Cooper is attached to star in the film. Cooper definitely has the look of a ball player. He's really blown up since The Hangover came out, and right now he's in the zone. He wont have a problem finding acting gigs ever again.
The film is a dramedy that centers on a baseball player who gets injured and has to go back to the minors where the only place he can find lodging is in a senior citizens' home. There, he meets an old baseball guru who helps lead him back.
THR reports that the project "is said to be in the vein of Scent of a Woman and The Rookie, the latter an inspirational sports drama starring Dennis Quaid that Disney released in 2002." So although Disney has been talking about focusing on brand name tentpole films, it's nice to see that they are making room for smaller feel good films.
