Ridley Scott to Produce new Sci-Fi Film with Channing Tatum called ION

Ridley Scott and his brother Tony are attached to produce a new sci-fi film that Fox 2000 is ready to bid on called Ion. The script for the film was written by Will Dunn, and Channing Tatum is attached to star in the film. I'm not the biggest Tatum fan, the guy can't act and I can't understand why he keeps getting cast in movies.

The film is described as a sci-fi romantic epic that revolves around a man who travels to different Earths and dimensions in order to find his reincarnated lover. Executives at the studio are comparing the film Avatar as a way to describe the scope and otherworldly elements of the story.

The script was shopped around Hollywood last year, but no one bit. Not until Avatar became a huge success did the studios and producers start having any interest in Ion. The Scott brothers eventually took it on and developed the script even further. Now it looks like they have a film package that they are ready to throw into production once a studio picks it up.

The story definitely sounds interesting, but Tatum starring in the film doesn't. What do you hink about this sci-fi film project.
