Sony Reviewing Screen Tests for SPIDER-MAN Reboot

It's looking like Sony Pictures and director Marc Webb are close to choosing the actor that will play Peter Parker in the new Spider-Man 3D reboot. They recently went through and watched the screen test videos of all the actors that are seriously being considered for the role.

As of right now they still have yet to make a decision, but it's down to these eight young actors; Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot, TinTin), Anton Yelchin (Star Trek), Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass), Andrew Garfield (The Social Network), Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief), Alden Ehrenreich (Tetro), Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince) and Michael Angerano (Lords of Dogtown).

These are all decent actors, each one has a quality to them that would be good for Peter Parker, but out of this list I'd like to see Anton Yelchin get the part. I think he's a great young actor that's got what it takes to bring Parker to life again on the big screen. There's still a chance that other names will be added to the list, but Sony wants to lock the lead superhero role down soon. The script by Jamie Vanderbilt is still being worked on, and they have yet to cast anyone in the film, but Sony has locked a July 3, 2012 release date for the new Spider-Man reboot, and they want to start production on the film before the year ends. They sure better hurry!

Who would you like to see play the next Spider-Man?
