People are Saying Josh Hutcherson is the New SPIDER-MAN
According to blueskydisney Josh Hutcherson (Journey to the Center of the Earth) has officially been cast as Peter Parker in Marc Webb's upcoming 3D Spider-Man reboot. They report that their "Bothans from Sony decided that Hutcherson was the right fit for the role and an offer was made and has been accepted."
I have no problems at all with Hutcherson getting the role of Spider-Man he's a decent young actor, that is the right age for the role of a young high school aged Peter Parker. At the same time I have no idea if this is true or not, there has been no confirmation. The last we heard his name wasn't even on the list of actors that Sony was reviewing screen tests for.
It was down to these eight young actors in the last report that came out; Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot, TinTin),Anton Yelchin (Star Trek),Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass), Andrew Garfield (The Social Network), Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief),Alden Ehrenreich (Tetro), Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince) and Michael Angerano (Lords of Dogtown).
Maybe they were just reviewing the screen tests one more time to make sure Hutcherson was the right choice. But on top of that Comingsoon recently talked to Hutcherson about the role, but it seemed like he didn't really know what was going on with it. Here's what he said,
I think a lot of people are auditioning and talking about it, so it's an honor to be considered on the same list with some of these actors that I'm up against. It's really cool. To be talked about in that kind of role is very awesome.
I really don't know what's going on with everything right now. It would be an honor to play that role, it's a big thing, it's a total game changer. I really want to play a comic book hero. I'm not really huge into comics, but I've always been big into superheroes from the cartoons and the movies that have been made about them.
We'll find out eventually if Hutcherson really has the part or not. In the mean time let us know what you think about the possibility of him being cast.
