Dario Argento Will Let David Gordon Green Remake SUSPIRIA

One of my favorite horror films of all time is Dario Argento's Suspira. I'm a big fan of Italian horror cinema, and I loved how creepy, visual, and trippy this film was. It's been a couple years since we first found out that this horror masterpiece was going to be remade.

Natalie Portman is attached to produce , and set is to play the lead role with David Gordon Green directing the film. Green has directed films such as Superbad and Pineapple Express. Back in 2009 we reported that the film would be shot this year, but it never happened. Now we have an update on why it took so long to get the film into production.

Apparently the director of the original film, Argento, wouldn't give up the rights to the movie. Green had to negotiate with him for nine months before Argento finally recently released the rights. So after all this time why did Argento finally give Green the thumbs up to make the remake? Because he is "convinced that his movie is a masterpiece and can't be overshadowed." Yes, Argento thinks that Green can't top his original film, and you know what? I'm going to have to agree with him. But he's going to give Green the chance to try anyway. It should be interesting to see what he does with the film, but there's no way it will overshadow Arento's vision. I'll be shocked if it does.

Suspiria is definitely the best film that Argento has made. He's made a ton of other films in his career some were good, but nothing was like what he did with Suspira.

The film follows a young American dancer who travels to Europe to join a famous ballet school. The young girl begins to hear strange noises, and is troubled by bizarre occurrences. She eventually discovers that the school is merely a front for a much more sinister organization.
