Michael Bay is Actually Shooting TRANSFORMERS 3 in 3D

Movie Transformers by Joey Paur

We knew that Transformers 3 would be released 3D, what we didn't no for sure until today is if it was actually being shot in 3D or converted. Earlier in the year Michael Bay was out playing around with 3D cameras to see if they would work for his ballistically crazy shooting style, and it looks like they passed the Michael Bay test of insanity because he's shooting the film in 3D.

Vince Pace, the innovator of Fusion 3D and 2D digital camera systems that was developed with James Cameron, had this to say recent to MarketSaw:

Trying to lay low and do what I do best. We took delivery of the first Alexa cameras for Hugo and have 23 more on the way. Transformers has also signed on to shoot 3D throughout the film. I am working on a big Disney Film but can’t mention the name and are lining up five more films. Just wrapped on additional photography for Resident Evil and Tron. Currently in Hawaii and flying out to London for Hugo.

So I guess we can expect to see pieces of robot metal flying at us as the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out for a third time. Hey, it least it's not going through cheap conversion process.
