Netflix CEO Talks PS3 App, More Streaming TV Shows

According to Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, Playstation 3 owners making use of his company's service may toss their instant streaming discs to the side by October. A Netflix app will be released on or around that month that will mirror the way the service works on the Xbox 360.

This news was extracted from a conference call by the folks at All Things Digital. Hastings addressed several things during the call's duration, including the company's continued drive to offer more television shows. "TV shows are equally as important to our franchise as movies," he said before mentioning before discussing the "thousands of TV shows" they've added from the likes of Fox, MTV, and Warner Bros.

So, even with the full launch of Hulu Plus on the horizon, it appears that Netflix Instant Watch won't be suffering at all.
