Mark Ruffalo Officially Signs on to play THE HULK in THE AVENGERS!

Hey gang! It's been reported that Mark Ruffalo has officially signed on with Marvel to play Bruce Banner a.k.a. The Hulk in Joss Whedon's The Avengers! He will be replacing Edward Norton in the role, who replaced Eric Bana. Ruffalo will be the third big actor to portray The Hulk in a Marvel film. Deadline reports,

I've just learned the ink is drying on the deal reached by Brillstein Entertainment Partners with Marvel. (There's no official confirmation yet from Marvel whose reps aren't available for their usual "No comment".) So it looks like Marvel movie mastermind Kevin Feige may pull this off and bring Ruffalo along with other of The Avengers superheroes and director Joss Whedon to tomorrow night's panel at Comic-Con.

So it looks like today Marvel will end up making the big official reveal during the Marvel panel at Comic-Con, which is what they wanted to do all along.

I'm a big fan of Ruffalo, and I think he'll do a great job in the role! He may not seem to fit the part for some of you, but there is no denying this guy is a extremely talented actor, and I'm sure he'll end up bringing something great, new and different to the character of Bruce Banner. As much as I wish Norton would have been able to take on the role again, I think Ruffalo is a fantastic replacement and I can't wait to see what he does wit the character.

What do you all think about Ruffalo playing The Hulk?
