Tony Scott and Matt Reeves up to Direct WOLVERINE 2

This little bit of news slipped under our radar while covering the event's at Comic-Con this year. But according to The Playlist directors Tony Scott and Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) are the two frontrunners for Fox to develop Wolverine 2. They narrowed down the choices after looking at several other directors which included Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker) and Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted).

Personally I'm not a big fan of either Scott or Reeves taking on the project. I do like many of Scott's films, but I'm not sure his directing style would work for the world of Wolverine, I guess it would be an interesting and different take in terms of style though. I don't like how Scott directs his action sequences. As for Reeves, Cloverfield was an annoying movie for me to watch, I know there are a lot of people out there that liked it, but it just didn't click with me. He is currently directing the remake of Let the Right One In which is called Let Me In. This movie is definitely a step up for Reeves in terms of directing, style and storytelling. Unfortunately it's a story that's already been told. But, If I were to have to pick out of the two I would have to go with Reeves. He seems like a pretty big fanboy, and I think he could bring something fresh to the project, plus I'd just like to see what he would do with it.

For those of you that don't already know, Wolverine 2 will be based on Frank Miller and Chris Claremont's Japanese storyline.

Out of Reeves and Scott who would you like to see take on Wolverine 2?
