Michael Bay Producing Modest-Budget Sci-Fi Alien Film

Paramount Pictures has acquired a the film rights to a new alien sci-fi film, which Michael Bay is set to produce on a modest budget. Does Bay even know how to develop a film on a modest budget? Deadline reports that. "The deal was made on the basis of a two-minute teaser and a pitch. It will be directed by Bobby Glickert, and produced by Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form."

The producers and studio are currently meeting with screenwriters to write up the film project. There are no real details on what this movie is about other than it's being called "Confidential Alien Project", and it is compared to Cloverfield and Paranormal Activity, both of which were shot on the cheap and released by Paramount.

This will be Glickert's first big feature film, before this he made to short horror films called Road to Moloch and The Descendent. He was a PA on Bay's first Transformers film, and has been assistant to director Fast & Furious the past year and a half.

That's pretty cool. Here's a guy that pretty much worked his way up in the film industry doing the crappy PA and assistant jobs, now here he is getting ready to direct his first feature film. Congratulations Bobby! It just shows you that it is possible to make it in this business if your work you ass off and make the right connections.
