Chloë Moretz in talks to star in Karyn Kusama's THE RUT

The director of Jennifer's Body and Aeon Flux, Karyn Kusama, is currently developing a new film project called The Rut. The movie is said to take a slightly different direction from Kusama's previous films. Kick-Ass star Chloë Moretz is currently in talks to take on a lead role in the film.

The story concerns a father-daughter relationship and centers particularly on hunting, as a daughter must learn the tricks of hunting and archery taught to her by her father after her father goes missing.

The film sounds like it could be a solid character study, and I'm interested to see what Kusama does with it. I hope Moretz ends up taking the role because this could end up being a great character for her to play, she's such a great young actress.

Kusama got her big break as a director for making the indie film Girlfight. She then started directing more commercial films that weren't really that good at all. The Rut could end up being her first solid film since Girlfight. I like the simplicity of the story, and it could end up being a very intense film. What do you all think?
