Taylor Lautner to Join X-MEN: FIRST CLASS?
I would take this news with a grain of salt for right now because I have no idea if this story is true or not. Apparently Showbiz411 is reporting that 20th Century Fox wants Twilight star Taylor Lautner to take a role in Fox's upcoming Matthew Vaughn directed film X-Men: First Class. Apparently Fox checked the actor's availability then offered him a role in the film which has yet to be revealed.
Apparently Fox wants to have more young actors in the upcoming X-Men film following the success of the Twilight film series. After the failures of some of their recent movies such as Knight & Day, The A-Team and Marmaduke, the studio is reportedly obsessed with getting X-Men: First Class right.
Well if this is true, then it sounds like they are going in the completely wrong direction. Casting Lautner will more than likely piss off the Fanboy/fangirl community, but Fox has a reputation of pissing off the Fanboy/fangirl's when it comes to Comic Book Movies. I honestly don't see Vaughn casting Launter though, which makes me think this story may not be true.
I'm treating this as a big fat rumor because I can't access Showbiz411.com to confirm what exactly their story is, it looks like their website is down. But the news came through both Aceshowbiz and ComicBookMovie, which have been credited in our reference section. If anyone can clarify if this news is true or not for us that would be great.
In the mean time for the sake of discussion and ranting what would you all think about Lautner showing up in X-Men: First Class?
