The Original Logo for Apple Computers

ArtTech by Joey Paur

I'm sure some of you have already seen this. I came across it again recently and thought it would be something fun to share with those that still have not seen what the original logo from Apple Computers looked like, which featuring Sir Isaac Newton. It was a pretty less effective logo that only lasted for about a year. Here it is...

The logo was created by one of the lesser-known founders of Apple Computer Co., Ronald Wayne.  It’s hard to even notice the apple hanging from the tree above Sir Isaac Newton’s head in this image.  The text that borders the image, which is very small  says, Newton… A Mind Forever Voyaging Through Strange Seas of Thought … Alone.” There is really nothing positive that you can say about it in terms of branding a technology company.

One other interesting tidbit of information I thought was funny... The first Apple 1 computer that went up for sale in 1976 was sold at the market price of $666.66.
