Bugs Bunny Cast in new Live-Action/Animated Hybrid Movie

Movie Warner Bros. by Joey Paur

Warner Bros. has cast Bugs Bunny to star in a new live-action animated hybrid feature film. The studio has hired Elf screenwriter David Berenbaum to write the script that will help revive Bugs Bunny's career. Barenbaum also adapted The Spiderwick Chronicles, and is working on another animated project with George Lucas.

The project is still in the early stages of development, it doesn't even have a producer attached to it yet. As we've reported recently, Warner Bros. is creating a new looney Tunes TV series, along with some Wile E. Coyote CGI 3D short films that will play in front of select movies. The first of these shorts played before the recently released Cats & Dogs 2, the second will be shown with Zack Snyder’s Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, and the third will play in front of Yogi Bear.

As much as I love Bugs Bunny it's hard to get excited over the idea of this CGI/live-action film project. These kind of movies tend to suck. Remember Looney Tunes: Back in Action, Garfield, Alvin and the Chipmunks? Then their are those awful looking trailers for Smurfs and Yogi freakin' Bear.

What do you think about Bugs Bunny making his way back up on the big screen?
