Guillermo Del Toro was going to Develop VAN HELSING Project with Tom Cruise
It was recently announced that director Guillermo del Toro's next project will be a film he's been trying to get off the ground for some time now... At the Mountains of Madness for Universal Pictures. This is a project I'm very excited about seeing him bring to life.
To take on this new film project he had to let go of another one. Not long ago word got out that del Toro was going to develop a new Van Helsing film project for Universal. Well, he's no longer developing this project. It was also revealed by Vulture that Tom Cruise is actually set to produce and possible star in the movie.
Just because del Toro left the project doesn't mean the movie isn't going to get made. Crusie is still attached to the project, and there's a strong possibility it will move forward into production.
I seriously can't even imagine Cruise playing Van Helsing! Maybe he'll take on another role as a vampire? It's been fifteen years since he played a Lestat in Interview With a Vampire.
