Carey Mulligan Joins Ryan Gosling in DRIVE

Looks like actress Carey Mulligan (An Education) is going to join Ryan Gosling (The Notebook) and Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) in Universal Picture's new action-thriller Drive. The movie is being directed by Nicolas Winding Refn who also developed the films Valhalla Rising and Bronson.

Drive is based on the James Sallis novel about a Hollywood stunt driver (Gosling) who moonlights as a getaway car driver in heists. In the book, the stuntman's already-exciting existence gets jolted when he discovers that a contract has been put out on his life. Hossein Amini (Killshot) wrote the screenplay.

Mulligan will play an ex-con's girlfriend who is taken along for the ride. The project starts shooting around Los Angeles next month.
