Michael Goldenberg Hired to Write GREEN LANTERN 2

Warner Bros. Pictures is moving forward with development of Green Lantern 2 with the hiring of a new screenwriter Michael Goldenberg (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) to write the script for the Green Lantern sequel. We have yet to see what the first film will be like, but it seems like they are confident enough in their project to thrust the sequel into development. The first film is set to be released in 3D and 2D theaters on June 17, 2011th, and I can't wait to see what is in store for us!

Goldbenberg will replace Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim who were previously hired to write a treatment for the sequel to the film that would have Ryan Reynolds return as Hal Jordan a.k.a. The Green Lantern.

Filming just wrapped in New Orleans, Louisiana on the Martin Campbell-directed movie.

Other project Goldenberg has worked on include Where the Wild Things Are, Peter Pan and Contact. So it looks like the sequel has a talented screenwriter to bring this sequel to life.
