Stephen Lang in talks to Join Steven Spielberg's TERRA NOVA
Stephen Lang, the actor who played the awesomely badass villain in James Cameron's Avatar, is currently in talks to join the Steven Spielberg produced sci-fi TV series Terra Nova.
The role he is in talks for is a pretty major character in the show, it's for the lead role opposite of Jason O'Mara. Lang would play a character by the name Frank Taylor, described as a charismatic and ruthless leader of the Terra Nova settlement who brings on former cop and new Terra Nova resident Jim Shannon (O’Mara) as the latest recruit for his security detail.
They wanted Lang on the show very early in development, but his film schedule kept him from committing to it. Now that his schedule has opened up, the shows producers made him an offer. They're just waiting to see if he excepts it or not.
The series centers on the Shannons, an ordinary family from 2149 when the planet is dying who are transported back 85 million years to prehistoric Earth where they join Terra Nova, a colony of humans with a second chance to build a civilization. Lang would play the role of Frank Taylor, the charismatic and ruthless leader of the Terra Nova settlement. He asks new arrival Jim Shannon (O'Mara), a former cop, to join his security team.
Here's a little interesting note of trivia, Terra Nova is originally set in 2149, this is just 5 years before the events that take place in Avatar.
If Lang takes the role he will make great addition to the TV series!
