Jeremy Renner Talks about His Hawkeye Costume
I think most of us agree that Jeremy Renner is the perfect actor to take on the role of Hawkeye in the upcoming Marvel film The Avengers being directed by Joss Whedon.
In a recent interview with MTV the actor talked about the role, and the costume that is be planned for the character which won't be the comic book style purple costume we've all come to know. I figured they would go with a different design, the original costume wouldn't seem to fit in with the Marvel movie universe. This isn't the first time he talked about the costume, he said similar things about it before he even got cast in the role.
I think it's going to be a little more reality-based, you can kind of tell with Scarlett [Johansson]'s character [in 'Iron Man 2'], it's going to be more of a uniform . . . and not a big purple, comics sort of thing. That's why I think it's more palatable to audiences — there's almost a sense of reality to these superheroes, That's what makes it interesting to me, anyway.
Renner goes on to talk about the relationship between Hawkeye and Black Widow who have been known to get together at times, a discusses if we will see this relationship in the movie.
We will [have a relationship], I think, in this one as well, we're kind of a team, and what that relationship is, is still to be discovered.
So there's definitely going to be some flirtatious advances between the two character which should be fun to see unfold. As for the costume, I think it's fine that they are going to move away from the comic book purple, I'm sure they'll make Hawkeye look even more like a badass with what ever it is they have in mind.
