New Trailer for PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 and Hidden Easter Eggs
Paramount Pictures has released a new trailer for Paranormal Activity 2. The trailer is almost exactly the same as the first trailer that was released but this time around there are a few little easter eggs hidden away in the trailer which have been pointed out. They have to be pointed out because all of the new shots are hidden. The movie seems to revolve around the baby from the trailer.
Check out the trailer and then take a look at what you most likely didn't see. Let us know what you think. Do you think this sequel is going to be just as scary as the first film?
Here are the hidden Easter Eggs as pointed out by MTV:
The Return of Katie(?) and the Phantom Baby
First off, this trailer seems to confirm the return of Katie, who (SPOILER ALERT) was haunted, possessed and turned into a murderer in "Paranormal Activity." The woman seen standing in the bathroom doorway at the end of the trailer could not be her of course, but it sure does look like her.
Note too, in the above image and the below one, that the baby in the crib is ONLY visible in the mirror. That little kid is in some way the key to the film, as you'll find out momentarily.
The Mysterious Baby And His Relationship To Katie
Monkey around with the shuttle bar for a bit and you'll find, somewhere in the middle of the trailer, a point that seems to break the video. A series of images flash by, showing the little boy and... well... you'll see.The sequence STARTS with this blurry, jarring picture. It's a woman (??? -- probably Katie?) with her arms spread wide and arched, almost as though under the influence of a puppeteer's strings, with a child crawling at her feet.
Next comes a flash of images of a child, presumably the one in the crib. If you look carefully, you can see another child in the background. The kid's head is being held (caressed?) by an adult's hands as he cries. The adult's green nail polish notably stands out.
Then there's the final image. It seems to be the same shot as the first one, of the woman/demon/thing with her arms spread wide while a baby crawls at her feet. Only in this shot, the baby is all alone. The coloring has the character of a vintage photograph, perhaps something from the crib baby's past.
Listen Carefully
The last easter egg cue to look for is audio only. Towards the end of the trailer you can hear a deep voice speak, but it sounds like it's playing backwards. In the final seconds of the trailer, it seems to rewind and that same audio bite plays in reverse. It's hard to tell what's being said-- I hear "Enjoy," but that doesn't seem right. If anyone's got another guess, let us know. Finally, let the trailer play out completely and a final image of the bedroom pops up. A background noise/hum grows in volume as the image zooms to highlight the mirror image baby standing in his crib. I don't know what the deal here is but, as I mentioned above, this little boy is undoubtedly the key.
