Our friends at Latino Review are reporting that Kate Beckinsale has been cast in a new thriller called Contraband in which she will join the previously cast Mark Wahlberg. This film was originally called Reykjavik-Rotterdam.
Contraband is a remake of an Icelandic thriller, the movie centers on a security guard and former alcohol smuggler on the Iceland-Netherlands route who is tempted back into illicit business by a dubious friend after encountering financial problems.
The star and producer of the original 2008 film, Baltasar Kormakur, will direct the remake for Working Title.
Aaron Guzikowski, the writer behind 2009 Blacklist spec script Prisoners, is writing the script.
It's always great to see Beckinsale cast in any movie, she's solid actress that looks great!
