Paula Patton Cast as the Lead Female in MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 4

Looks like Mission: Impossible 4 has found it's leading lady. According to Deadline Paula Patton (Precious) has been cast in the film. Patton was among the names of two other actresses up for the role as well, which included Lauren German and Kristen Kreuk. Patton will star as a young operative working with Ethan Hunt.

It's also confirmed in the reportthat the film will not be titled Mission: Impossible IV, because the studio is looking to play the sequel up as a reboot of the franchise.

Patton and Cruise will join returning actors Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg along with the recently cast actor Jeremy Renner. Brad Bird (The Iron Giant, Ratatouille) will direct the project as his first live-action feature, shooting is set to start rolling this fall.

Mission: Impossible 4 is set to be released on December 16th 2011.
