Chloe Moretz to play EMILY THE STRANGE

Everyone's favorite hitgirl Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass)has landed another big role in a film! She has been perfectly cast as the title character in the big screen adaptation of Emily The Strange

Emily The Strange is a comic created by Rob Reger and his company Cosmic Debris. Universal Pictures acquired the rights to the property which is with Dark Horse Comics, and they're obviously prepping up to launch it into production.

I think Moretz is great talented young actress, and she seems like the perfect choice for the role. The creator of the character also feels the same way saying,

When I first met Chloe I knew I found my Emily. She really identifies and understands the character, and has what it takes to bring her to life.

I think fans of the comic should be pleased with the choice. Moretz can be seen in the upcoming vampire film Let Me In, and she's currently shooting the Martin Scorsese-directed film Hugo Cabret.

Emily the Strange is a goth-looking 13-year old girl who is usually accompanied by her four black cats: Sabbath - the troublemaker, Nee-Chee - the schemer, Miles - the creative, and Mystery, the leader of the group. The franchise has a considerable merchandising catalog, including clothing, stationery, stickers, and accessories.

She first appeared on a sticker distributed at concerts, record stores and skate shops to promote Cosmic Debris, the clothing line founded by artist and skateboarder Rob Reger, racecar driver Matt Reed and Nathan Carrico, who designed Emily in 1991 for Santa Cruz Skateboards in Santa Cruz, California.
