Image Comics to Release Ian Churchill's MARINEMAN

British comic artist and writer Ian Churchill, known for his work in the pages of ELPHANTMEN and Hulk, has a new project with Image entitled Marineman.

"Steve 'MARINEMAN' Ocean is a marine biologist and TV presenter -- a man blessed with good looks, a good job, a good circle of friends and a life many would aspire to," reads the official synopsis. "But Steve Ocean also has a secret -- a secret, which, if revealed, could have perilous consequences for Ocean and everyone in his life. With underwater action and adventure all the way, MARINEMAN may just turn out to be the comic book you didn't know you were missing!"

The Golden Age-inspired premise has potential to be either a rollicking good time or incredibly cheesy. If I were in control of the book, I’d use Billy Ocean as my protagonist in lieu of a fictitious one.  Sounds great, right?  He could actually save the Caribbean Ocean whose Queen he so soulfully expressed desire for in song all these years.
