Emma Thompson in Talks to Join MEN IN BLACK III

Sony Pictures and director Barry Sonnenfeld are gearing up to start shooting Men in Black III, and now it looks like they have another great cast member on the horizon.

Emma Thompson is currently in talks to take on the role of the head of MIB. We aren't sure if she is a replacement for Rip Torn's character Zed, who was the head of MIB in the first two films. According to commingsoon, recent legal issues may prevent Torn from returning to the franchise. I have no idea what that means, but I don't really need to know. What matters is they got a great actress to possibly take on the role.

If Thomson is officially cast she will join Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin and Jemaine Clement.

Men in Black III is expected to go into production soon with a script written by Etan Cohen and David Koepp. The film is set to be released on May 25th, 2012.
