Here's a great interesting film clip from director Mark Romanek's new film Never Let Me Go, which is based on the highly acclaimed novel by Kazuo Ishiguro. The film has a solid cast of young actors that includes Keira Knightley, Carey Mulligan, Andrew Garfield, Charlotte Rampling, Sally Hawkins, Nathalie Richard and Andrea Riseborough.
I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie. It's been getting great reviews from those who have seen it, and it seems like it will be worth watching. I really liked what I saw in the tailer for and this film clip. This looks like a well written film with some great acting. The Daily Mail gave a little review of the film, and they said the following:
In certain directorial and thespian hands, Ishiguro’s work could have been turned into mawkish slop. But, with these actors, the film’s a thing of rare beauty. … Never Let Me Go is the most haunting film about love and death I’ve ever seen.
The story poses the fundamental question: What makes us human? Kathy, Tommy and Ruth live in a world and a time that feel familiar to us, but are not quite like anything we know. They spend their childhood at Hailsham, a seemingly idyllic English boarding school. When they leave the shelter of the school and the terrible truth of their fate is revealed to them, they must also confront the deep feelings of love, jealousy and betrayal that threaten to pull them apart.
The drama is set to open in theater on September 15th. The film was written by Alex Garland who also wrote Danny Boyle's Sunshine. Check out the film clip below and let us know what you think!
