Natalie Portman offered the Lead Role in GRAVITY
It looks like Alfonso Cuaron's new space survival film Gravity is going to move forward after all! About a week ago it was reported that Angelina Jolie passed on taking the lead female role in the 3D sc-fi thriller. It was said that her passing on the part may have killed the movie, but it doesn't look like that's the case at all.
It's now being reported that the beautiful Natalie Portman has been offered the lead female role in the film, in which she would join the already cast Robert Downey Jr. The role calls for a very strong woman, which I think Portman is perfect for.
The story focuses on a female astronaut sent out to fix the Hubble telescope who is the sole survivor left stranded after space junk hits her transport, so she must fight her way back to earth. I think Natalie Portman is a fantastic choice to fill the role! I actually prefer her over Jolie.
Portman still hasn't agreed to star in the film yet. Once she reads the script she will make her decision.
The film has a budget of $80 million dollars, and is slated to start filming in England at the end of January.
What do you all think about Portman taking on the lead female role in Gravity?
