While imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, it can still raise ire amongst a certain set.  Capcom Mobile released “their” MaXplode to the iTunes App Store and almost instantly received flack over its striking similarities to indie darling Twisted Pixel’s ‘Splosion Man.  In both games, you play as a character with the ability to explode off of objects/enemies involved in a fight against a group of scientists. They also both possesses a graphical resemblance that’s undeniable.

The knock-offs housed in the App Store normally receive little attention or protest. This time, though, things are different. Before Twisted Pixel released ‘Splosion Man through Xbox Live, they actually pitched the game to Capcom but it was rejected. It appears they changed their mind once the game found an audience and decide to make their own version.
