Disney Sets Terry Rossio to write PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 5

Earlier today we reported on the fact that Johnny Depp is willing to play Captain Jack Sparrow for a fifth time, and that Disney was already discussing a fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film. Depp isn't locked in yet, but I'm sure he will be. We now have word that the studio has set Terry Rossio to write the fifth installment of the franchise.

Rossio wrote the first four Pirates film with Ted Elliott, but this will be his first time writing without him. The studio is also looking to bring back Rob Marshall to direct the fifth film as well. So the wheels have started turning on Pirates 5, and it's moving into the development stage.
