Jean-Claude Van Damme Agrees To Star In EXPENDABLES 2 With One Condition!

Jean-Claude Van Damme is interested in starring in The Expendables 2, but he has one condition!

Sylvester Stallone has been working hard on the sequel since the box-office success of the first film. It has been reported that that he's interested in adding even more action stars to the mix and that Bruce Willis will have a larger role as the villain.

Jean-Claude Van Damme was actually offered a role in the first film but turned it down because he did not feel the role was big enough. I thought it was a bit strange for him to turn down a role in a theatrical release only to star in another Universal Soldier, which went straight-to-DVD!

According to director Sheldon Lettich (The Order, Double Impact), Van Damme is interested in joining the cast of The Expendables 2 as long as fellow action star Steven Seagal isn’t involved in the film. Lettich is negotiating with JCVD to star in Double Impact 2, and he recently posted the following statement on the forums of The Van Damme Fans:

“JC seems to be leaning towards appearing in the sequel, as far as I know… If Steven Seagal is not in the sequel. From what I’ve heard it, [Steven Seagal won’t be, not because of Sly, but because of producer Avi Lerner, who had a few bad experiences with Steven.”

I like both stars but wish they could both star in the sequel. Casting confirmations are likely to be made soon, so we will have to wait until then to find out officially. If Van Damme signs on to star, he would be joining all of the characters of The Expendables, and there will be larger roles for Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis. It is reported that there will be even more new characters added to the mix, even possibly played by Ryan Seacrest and Kurt Russell (yes, please).

Seacrest is the one that got Stallone inolved with Twitter, and they exchanged tweets about how Seacrest is in great physical shape and that he’d do some damage in a fight in The Expendables 2. What started as an off-handed remark has turned into a possiblity. Seacrest announced that he was asked to play some sort of computer geek. Lundgren hopes to have Seacrest playing the role of a CIA guy, but nothing’s official yet.

I wold love to have Van Damme, Russell, and hell, even throw in Seacrest. If Van Damme is cast, I'd like to see him as a villain. What are your thoughts? Should he be a good guy or bad guy? Who would you like to see Van Damme fight in the sequel?
