Clint Eastwood to Direct A STAR IS BORN

Movie Clint Eastwood by Joey Paur

Director Clint Eastwood is attached to helm a remake of a film called  A Star is Born for Warner Bros.

The project has been in development for a long time, and it's been rumored that Beyoncé is already attached to take on the lead role. The lead male role in the film still has yet to be cast, but it's expected to go to a high-profile actor.

This will be the fourth time this movie has been made, I'm not sure why they keep wanting to remake it, but I'm a big fan of Eastwood and his work. I hope he brings something different to the story. I'm sure it will be modern day interpretation. William A. Wellman directed the 1937 original with Janet Gaynor and Fredric March. The 1954 George Cukor is probably the best known, starring Judy Garland and James Mason. 1976 saw Frank Pierson tackle an updated version with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson.

The story follows A movie star helps a young singer/actress find fame, even as age and alcoholism send his own career into a downward spiral.

Eastwood is likely to begin production this fall.
