Microsoft's Kinect has just blown up above and beyond their expectations. Microsoft President CEO Steve Ballmer announced at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show tonight that the company has sold 8 million Kinect units in its first 60 days on sale, which is three million more than it originally projected.

G4TV reports that "the company had sold 2.5 million at the end of November, a little over three weeks after its launch, which means that over 5.5 million Kinects were sold in the month of December alone."

I don't know about you, but I'm just not sold on the Kinect yet. I've used it a few times, but I have yet to be completely impressed enough to actually spend money on it. Every time I've used it it's been glitchy, it's never really worked right when I've used it.

Ballmer also revealed that Xbox 360 sales have surpassed 50 million units sold worldwide.

What do you all think about the Kinect if you've used it? Do you recommend it? Does it work properly for you, or does it just not like me using it?
